Amazon Game Studios is preparing for the first server merger between Avalon and Ramaja worlds in Central Europe, and earlier this month, New World was preparing to merge Ramaja on February 4, and made an announcement as a result.
Server consolidation has become a necessity in New World for a number of reasons, with Amazon Studios merging hundreds of servers in December 2021. Also trying to rebalance the New World Gold factions as they want to feed heavily depopulated servers with a lot of players.
While this is only the first merger in 2022, Amazon Studios says more will follow. Because of New World's dramatic drop in active players on Steam, many of the original players left the game.
New World suffered from several issues after launch, including a gold bug, combat bugs, and problematic server queues that some players had experienced, which also contributed to the loss of some players. In the January 25th patch, there were some bugs that caused items to disappear, etc.
Thankfully, however, AGS was able to fix the issue a day later with an emergency patch, and also fixed some inventory issues. Additional fixes aimed at addressing some ongoing issues related to items disappearing when dropped and picked up were finally rolled out last week.
Despite some in-game issues, New World still managed to gain a strong player base. Tens of thousands of players are still active in New World every day, but that may change with another MMO released by Amazon, Lost Ark.
But whether you stick with New World or plan to move on, Amazon Game Studios wants players to know that they have more content to come, and a ton of new content to follow.
