Mentality is preferred by me. Stopped playing both games a while back but I prefer unrestricted their development is and the way old the RS3 content is. Yes a few things are bad like MTX, but the updates aren't held back by people who dislike a specific item/area/skill added. Personally, I think OSRS will die quicker than RS3 because too many people are living off nostalgia. Not letting certain updates as a YouTuber/streamer comes with an RS gold opinion and his community will immediately side with him is a really bad recipe for tragedy. Pun intended.
Controversial but I miss. I have trust to come up. I miss the anticipation of"whats ". For dungeoneering Bear in mind the mysterious power? The hype for that was immense. I really feel like participant stubborness as well as voting holds back a lot of innovation and content. And of course, this causes fear for the devs for creating anything significant. I tried RS3 back into the day, however, the biggest issue have lender place holders.
Well they eventually added that in recently, so I decided to return to check it out. First, I received my buddy to play Runescape with me by doing a fake-group-iron-man (since group ironman isnt implemented yet, we only made the rules ), with the goal of beating Dragon Slayer at OSRS. The idea being that game for OSRS is fun since the mill isnt passing, and beating Dragon Slayer is a F2P goal requiring us to do the quests. We must about battle degree 12 and had a couple of levels in several other skills when she wished to quit...
Fast forward about a year and that I get curious in RS3 back again. I open my account up and I have no idea what to do with it because I have all the quests and levels complete already from back when this version was still RS2. So instead of trying to work out my account's place on the planet, convince my girlfriend to try our fake-group-iron-man let us beat on RS3 although Dragon Slayer again and I decide to start from scratch that time. She insists, and we have not been able to stop playing. Took a little effort at first to arrange the UI the way we like (I have 2 monitors I perform with it on for different reasons, and one is a vertical screen. I have saved two UI presets and it is so amazing to be able to just drag RuneScape match to another screen and load the preset), but otherwise RuneScape game was entertaining all around.
The skill mill is so much more fun (particularly as fake-iron-men, we are able to take advantage of double xp weekend and the free treasure hunter secrets for some incentive xp, but we still arent just grinding out whatever will make us the most money in the GE). We literally have almost foundation 50s in all our abilities (and even 70smith and mining at this time because the rework is good ). She (and I) love doing the quests. Some are voice acted and many have a more interesting stuff. We havent beaten Dragon Slayer yet but we have members (which we definitely didnt plan on doing daily ) since our skills are buy RuneScape gold leveling up fast enough for us to think about that maybe something like Monkey Madness should be our actual goal. We didn't do the waterfall quest and it hasnt changed since it was made.
